We pride ourselves on a being a very patient-centered practice. We always take the time to listen to you so we can better understand the day-to-day challenges you are facing as a result of hearing difficulties. We find that this is the best way to develop treatment goals and intervention strategies that are both relevant and achievable. Our staff is very knowledgable and professional. In addition, Sound Hearing Solutions is affiliated with Ear, Nose and Throat Center which allows us to consult with on site physicians.

Sarah E. Borer, Au.D., FAAA

Dr. Sarah Borer was born and raised in Tiffin, Ohio. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences at Ohio University. She received her Doctorate in Audiology at Central Michigan University. She completed her residency at Dayton Ohio VA Medical Center. Dr. Borer is a strong advocate of continuing education in her profession in order to stay current on available technologies and therapies that will benefit her patients. She has interest in several areas of research. Some of her work has been published in the journal of Noise and Health. Dr. Borer joined the staff at Ear, Nose and Throat Center in 2007 and has expertise in adult diagnostics, amplification, bone-anchored implants (BAI) and hearing protection. Her broad clinical background allows her to provide a wide range of solutions for her patients. She is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Melanie Ludolph was raised in Morton Grove, Illinois. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and Master of Science in Audiology at Western Illinois University. Dr. Ludolph earned her Doctorate in Audiology from Pennsylvania College of Optometry School of Audiology. Dr. Ludolph joined the Ear, Nose and Throat Center in 2001. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Her areas of expertise include diagnostics, adult amplification and hearing protection. She strives to provide the best care and solutions for her patients hearing needs. Dr. Ludolph also enjoys providing clinical supervision for audiology doctoral candidates.

Mary Beth Agulo (Morris), Au.D.

Dr. Mary Beth Agulo completed her Bachelor of Science at Kent State University in Kent, OH and received her Doctorate in Audiology from Rush University in Chicago, IL. She fulfilled her externship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Head and Neck Institute in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Agulo joined the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic in 2016. She is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Illinois Academy of Audiology. Her areas of expertise include adult and pediatric diagnostics, amplification, bone anchored implants (BAI) and hearing conservation.

Bronwyn Milliken, Au.D., CCC-A

Bronwyn is the newest member of our Audiology team. She graduated with a clinical doctorate in audiology in 2017 from Rush University. Following graduation, Dr. Milliken worked for a non-profit organization providing hearing health care to low-income patients in the Chicago land area. Dr. Milliken joined the team at Sound Hearing Solutions in late August, and has jumped right into the busy practice with an energy and passion for helping SHS patients hear better and improve their quality of life.She lives in Chicago with her husband, and their dog, Henry. In her downtime, Dr. Milliken enjoys exploring the great city of Chicago both on foot and by biking. She loves to read, and is currently re-reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. Please help us welcome Dr. Milliken to SHS!

Danielle serves as the Practice Administrative Liaison for Sound Hearing Solutions and the Ear Nose and Throat Center. She has several years of clinical and administrative experience in the healthcare setting. Her role with our group is to serve as the main point of contact between our patients and our audiology team to help facilitate an effortless hearing health experience at our office. She has several years of clinical and administrative experience in the healthcare setting and completed her Bachelor’s in Healthcare Leadership at Lewis University, in Romeoville Illinois.

David P. Tojo, MD, FACS

David P. Tojo, MD., a Cincinnati native, is the founder of The Ear, Nose and Throat Center. He attended college at Northwestern University and medical school at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he was selected to membership in Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed internship and residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary and affiliated hospitals (Children’s Memorial Hospital, Cook County Hospital, West Side VA Medical Center and Michael Reese Hospital). He pursued additional post-graduate training at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Between 1992 and 2000, Dr. Tojo served as a clinical instructor in head and neck surgery in the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Department of Otolaryngology. He joined the staff at Lutheran General Hospital in 1992 where he has assumed numerous leadership positions. Dr. Tojo has been selected as one of Chicago area’s “Top Doctors” by Castle Connolly Medical Guide and North Shore Magazine. Dr. Tojo practices all aspects of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and has special expertise in the management of hearing loss and tinnitus, surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, nasal and sinus issues, and surgery for skin cancer of the face, head, and neck. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and a member of the American Thyroid Association

Kevin L. Ziffra, MD

Kevin L. Ziffra, MD., a Chicago native, joined the Ear, Nose and Throat Center in 2001. He attended college at Northwestern University and medical school at University of Illinois College of Medicine where he was selected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed the Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary and affiliated hospitals (Children’s Memorial Hospital, Cook County Hospital and Michael Reese Hospital). Before joining ENT Center, Dr. Ziffra served several Georgia communities, and was Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Dunwoody Medical Center and Emory Northlake Regional. He was recognized by Atlanta Magazine as one of Atlanta’s “Top ENT Specialists.” Dr. Ziffra practices all aspects of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and has special expertise in diseases of the salivary glands and sialoendoscopy. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Alexander D. Goldin, MD., a Chicagoland native, joined the Ear, Nose and Throat Center in 2002. He completed the Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary and affiliated hospitals (Children’s Memorial Hospital, Cook County Hospital and Michael Reese Hospital). He joined the staff at Lutheran General Hospital in 2002. Dr. Goldin practices all aspects of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and has special expertise in surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Michael K. Layland, MD

Michael K. Layland, MD., was raised in the Chicago suburbs and joined the in 2004. He attended college at Duke University and attended medical school at University of Illinois at Chicago where he was selected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed the Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at Washington University in St. Louis. He joined the staff at Lutheran General Hospital in 2004. Dr. Layland practices all aspects of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and has special expertise in medical and minimally invasive surgical treatment of sinus disease, treatment of tumors of the head and neck, salivary gland and thyroid gland diseases, hearing disorders and the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
